Q & A - America's Main Problem

As part of my Question & Answer series, we start with this question: What do you see as the main problem happening in America and what is the solution?

Without a vision to hold onto people grope about in the dark, and are easily deceived. The scripture says that satan roams about like a roaring lion, seeking whom he may devoir. Satan’s only power is deception.

Jesus said that satan is a thief and that he came only to kill, steal, and destroy. America was founded on Christian principles, and without an understanding of God’s Word people have no vision to protect them.

I will define religion as the actions that people take to appease or have a relationship of sorts with their god. While it is contrary to New Covenant teaching, this defines much of Christianity today. Here is a brief overview of Christianity.

God created this world to have an intimate relationship with man. After creating earth, He gave it to man. God’s intention was that man would rule the earth under His guidance. It was never-the-less in man’s power to rule as he wished. It was intended to be similar to the husband-and-wife relationship; were they rule together. Those who serve God are called His bride in both the Old and New Covenants.

God created man in His image, as both male and female. God established marriage as the cornerstone of what government should look like. Both our ruling the earth under God’s guidance and how government among mankind would look like.

For man to have freewill, he had to have the opportunity to resist God’s will. Man was given one restriction, one thing he was told never to do. Eventually, man choose to rebel against God’s authority and man died spiritually.

God had given man authority over the earth so this was a legal action; God had willing limited His authority on earth. A man gave it up (placing man under sin’s dominion) and a man would have to redeem man from that decision. It was Adam that sinned, not Eve (she was deceived, but Adam choose his action), so the sin nature is passed on through the male sperm.

God would have to become a man in order to redeem mankind. That man would have to be born of a virgin in order not to pass on the sin nature. Although God spoke earth into existence, it would take a series of men speaking prophecy from God to make that possible. This took 4000 years to accomplish.

When God speaks, His Word is a covenant. God cannot lie, because everything is literally held together by the integrity of His Word. God therefore required the cooperation of men to speak prophecy that would allow Jesus to be born of a virgin.

When the virgin Mary gave birth to Jesus, he was both the son of man, and the Son of God. God now had the legal right to redeem mankind. Under the Old Covenant, man had to sacrifice animals as a covering for sin. This was a never-ending cycle, for the blood of sheep and goats could not redeem man, but was a stop-gap measurement that symbolized what the coming Messiah would do.

When Jesus was condemned to die on the cross, He became the one and only sinless sacrifice that would atone for man’s sin permanently. The finished work of Christ Jesus by dying on the cross satisfied the angry of God toward man, forgave all sins, healed all sickness, delivered all men from spiritual bondage and everything that had been prophesied concerning the Messiah (Christ).

These things were essentially placed in a bank account, in everyone’s name (an account was set up for every man). The work of Jesus is finished. He has sat down at the right hand of God and His blood intercedes for us. The method of withdrawal from our account is to believe in our heart and confess with our mouth that Jesus (God) came in the flesh, died for our redemption, and was raised from the dead. This is the requirement to be saved (born-again), and the requirement to receive anything from God.

The thing that distinguishes Christianity from any other religion is forgiveness. All other religions have some form of work that they have to do to try and appease their god. If you try to become a Christian by preforming some deed, it will be rejected and you are still bound for hell. Salvation is a free gift and can only be received as a free gift.

Jesus is the way, the truth, the life; no man can come unto the Father, except through believing in Him.

So, to answer the question of what is needed to have an America (or any other country or person) that lives free of fear, or war, or evil, is to receive the redemption that is only available through Jesus Christ. This is a personal decision that every person must make for themselves. This is the starting point of an awesome life. Peace on earth and good will between God and man is a choice.
