Coming to Know Your Father

One of the most important things God has provided for us is salvation, without which no man will ever see God. When God created this world and placed him in the garden, God and man walked and talked together every day. This is God’s design and desire for us today.

When God created the world and finally man, He gave earth to man. It was our property, and our Father talked to us every day, teaching us and showing us what to do with His gift. Then came the day that his wife was deceived and ate from the tree that they had been forbidden to eat from. Perhaps thinking that something bad would happen to her and not wanting to risk losing her, Adam decided to eat from the forbidden tree himself. Eve was deceived, but Adam ate willing, thereby rebelling from God. All mankind suffered the consequences: separation from God.
This did not change God’s love for us. He had planned for what to do when this happened. Having made a legal contract with man by giving the earth to man; He would have to become a man to redeem man. This is why Jesus came to earth, and why He is called the Son of man in the scriptures. His humanity gave Him the legal authority to take back what satan had stolen. Jesus was also fully God, which is why the scriptures refer to Him as the Son of God. It took both to redeem man.
Jesus gave up His claim to deity, humbling Himself to die on the cross to restore man to relationship with God. His death on the cross cancelled out all man’s sins, and all the curses of the law (to those who accept His provision). Accepting His provision is the beginning point of knowing God as your Father.
But what does it say? "THE WORD IS NEAR YOU, IN YOUR MOUTH AND IN YOUR HEART"—that is, the word of faith which we are preaching, that if you confess with your mouth Jesus as Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved; for with the heart a person believes, resulting in righteousness, and with the mouth he confesses, resulting in salvation. (Rom 10:8-10 NAS95)
God even gives us the faith of Jesus to trust in His redemption. Today is the day of salvation if you believe in your heart that Jesus came, died and was resurrected to pay for your sin. Make this your confession.
As my blog grows, I will have more follow up resources. This understanding of grace came via AWMI/Charis Bible College, which has a 24/7 manned prayer line. If you have committed your life to Christ Jesus, I encourage you to call them at 719-635-1111. Tell them you have accepted Christ and would like a copy of their book, “The New You & The Holy Spirit.” Charis is a great resource anytime you need prayer. The second part of this book is about receiving the baptism in the Holy Spirit; they will be glad to lead you into receiving this very essential gift of God that will transform your life.
