God's Word, The Basis of Life

As a man thinks in his heart, is the state of that man. Words have power over everything, and they set the stage for how we will walk through life. What is in our heart is what our mouth will speak. We are taught limitations from early childhood, some for our protection but never-the-less putting limits on our dreams and hopes. Perhaps our parents had low self-esteem, and they spoke to us of how dim our futures were. Satan became the god of this world by words, speaking deceit to gain power over Eve. It is still his only power, but he has a chorus of those who champion his lies. Satan hates man for the elevated position God put us in and he will try to steal from us, kill us, or destroy us in any way we will allow him to do so. But God!
For as he thinketh in his heart, so is he: Eat and drink, saith he to thee; but his heart is not with thee.(Pro 23:7 KJV)
I call heaven and earth to record this day against you, that I have set before you life and death, blessing and cursing: therefore choose life, that both thou and thy seed may live:(Deu 30:19 KJV)
Death and life are in the power of the tongue: and they that love it shall eat the fruit thereof.(Pro 18:21 KJV)

God looks at Your Name and looks at looks at any of His children and proclaims that we are His craftsmanship, created to rule and reign in this life in His Son Christ Jesus. Before we are conceived, God knows us and has a plan for us; a plan to bless and not to curse, to give us an expected end.
For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, saith the LORD, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you an expected end. (Jer 29:11 KJV)
The LORD hath taken away thy judgments, he hath cast out thine enemy: the king of Israel, even the LORD, is in the midst of thee: thou shalt not see evil any more.(Zep 3:15 KJV)
The LORD thy God in the midst of thee is mighty; he will save, he will rejoice over thee with joy; he will rest in his love, he will joy over thee with singing.(Zep 3:17 KJV)
God’s Word is full of statements of how much He loves man, how much He wants to bless whatever we put our hands to. James, you are the blessed of the Lord, the redeemed of the Lord. Linda, you are the blessed of the Lord, the redeemed of the Lord.
Let the redeemed of the LORD say so, whom he hath redeemed from the hand of the enemy;(Psa 107:2 KJV)
Your name you were created for a day like today, created to rule and reign as kings and priests, as sons and daughters of the Most High God, your Father. As you renew your minds by God’s Word, you will begin to see yourselves as God sees you. All good things come from God, if it is good then it is from God; if it is hurtful, destructive, evil, then it is from satan.
The thief (satan) cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy: I am (Jesus) come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly.(Joh 10:10 KJV)
Parents of small children are an example of God’s love and provision toward us. Parents freely give their small children all the things that pertain to life and goodness. They never consider a cost their children owe for love given or for food, clothing, shelter, or anything else their children need. Parents extend grace (that which is extended to those who have no means of payment), to their small children as God does toward us. Small children naturally have faith to receive what their parents provide for them, the greatest of which is their identity. Jesus stated that we must come to God as small children or else we cannot receive the provisions of being part of His household.
And they brought unto him also infants, that he would touch them: but when his disciples saw it, they rebuked them. But Jesus called them unto him, and said, Suffer little children to come unto me, and forbid them not: for of such is the kingdom of God. Verily I say unto you, Whosoever shall not receive the kingdom of God as a little child shall in no wise enter therein.(Luke 18:15-17 KJV)
I perceive you enjoy our worship services and pastor’s teaching. I believe you are a bit overwhelmed with the circumstances in your life. Your physical bodies and emotions are tired from all you are experiencing. Jesus says that we can find rest[i] for our souls (emotions and intellect) through His provision on the cross. You received salvation[ii] by believing that Jesus is God and that He became a man, came to earth and died on the cross for your sin nature, and rose from the dead. When you then confessed this with your mouth, you became a child of God (you were born again). Salvation is something every person must do for themselves, no one else can believe for you for your salvation.
Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls. For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light.
(Mat 11:28-30 KJV)
His burden is, that we accept what He has paid for by faith in His word (not by our striving).
But what saith it? The word is nigh thee, even in thy mouth, and in thy heart: that is, the word of faith, which we preach; That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.(Rom 10:8-10 KJV)
This is the way everything is received from God, although others can pray for you to experience things like healing (with your consent). Our studies are for you to know the things God has freely given you. God’s word teaches us the nature of God (which never changes) and the things He freely gives us. As God’s children, we get to teach others about our good, good Father, but it is His Holy Spirit that give us revelation of His Word. We want to help you receive the baptism in the Holy Spirit which will release the power of God into your lives.
Now we have received, not the spirit of the world, but the spirit which is of God; that we might know the things that are freely given to us of God.(1Co 2:12 KJV)
But as it is written, Eye hath not seen, nor ear heard, neither have entered into the heart of man, the things which God hath prepared for them that love him. But God hath revealed them unto us by his Spirit: for the Spirit searcheth all things, yea, the deep things of God. For what man knoweth the things of a man, save the spirit of man which is in him? even so the things of God knoweth no man, but the Spirit of God. (1Co 2:9-11 KJV)
But ye shall receive power, after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you: and ye shall be witnesses unto me both in Jerusalem, and in all Judaea, and in Samaria, and unto the uttermost part of the earth.(Act 1:8 KJV)
I encourage you to get and study “Spirit, Soul, and Body”, which is a teaching of Andrew Wommack. This is a teaching which will help you understand your spirit, which is the real you. Your spirit cannot be understood through your natural man, it must be understood through God’s Word. James calls God’s Word a mirror that lets us see our spirit man[vi].
But be ye doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving your own selves. For if any be a hearer of the word, and not a doer, he is like unto a man beholding his natural face in a glass: For he beholdeth himself, and goeth his way, and straightway forgetteth what manner of man he was.

But whoso looketh into the perfect law of liberty, and continueth therein, he being not a forgetful hearer, but a doer of the work, this man shall be blessed in his deed.(Jas 1:22-25 KJV)
The Baptism in the Holy Spirit
· The baptism in the Holy Spirit gives you power to live the Christian life and to be a witness for Him.
· The Baptism in the Holy Spirit is received simply by believing and asking for it. If you ask, you will receive.
· The baptism in the Holy Spirit will give you the ability to speak in tongues. This is simply a language that your mind does not know. It is the Holy Spirit praying God’s perfect will through you, so your mind can’t interfere.
· Praying in tongues builds you up spiritually.
· Sample prayer (you are talking to your Father and He wants to give this to you). Father, I ask you to baptize me in Your Holy Spirit and give me the gift of speaking in tongues. Thank you for giving me Your power to live a victorious Christian life, I receive it now in Jesus’ name, amen.
· Now, simply start speaking the words that Holy Spirit is giving you. These will be in a language that your mind doesn’t know. I can pray in tongues with you if you like. Holy Spirit may be praying for many things through you, even singing through you. Make praying in tongues part of your daily praying time.
A few scriptures about praying in tongues:
· But ye shall receive power, after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you: and ye shall be witnesses unto me both in Jerusalem, and in all Judaea, and in Samaria, and unto the uttermost part of the earth.(Act 1:8 KJV)
· And I say unto you, Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you. For every one that asketh receiveth; and he that seeketh findeth; and to him that knocketh it shall be opened. If a son shall ask bread of any of you that is a father, will he give him a stone? or if he ask a fish, will he for a fish give him a serpent? Or if he shall ask an egg, will he offer him a scorpion? If ye then, being evil, know how to give good gifts unto your children: how much more shall your heavenly Father give the Holy Spirit to them that ask him?(Luk 11:9-13 KJV)
· And they were all filled with the Holy Ghost, and began to speak with other tongues, as the Spirit gave them utterance.(Act 2:4 KJV)
· For he that speaketh in an unknown tongue speaketh not unto men, but unto God: for no man understandeth him; howbeit in the spirit he speaketh mysteries.(1Co 14:2 KJV)
· He that speaketh in an unknown tongue edifieth himself; but he that prophesieth edifieth the church.(1Co 14:4 KJV)
· For if I pray in an unknown tongue, my spirit prayeth, but my understanding is unfruitful. What is it then? I will pray with the spirit, and I will pray with the understanding also: I will sing with the spirit, and I will sing with the understanding also.(1Co 14:14-15 KJV)
· But ye, beloved, building up yourselves on your most holy faith, praying in the Holy Ghost,(Jud 1:20 KJV)
Note: Praying in tongues, praying in the Holy Ghost, praying in the Holy Spirit, unknown tongue, and other tongues are interchangeable terms.
